Shangxian Lake Low-Carbon Digital Industrial Park Phase II

Wuxi, Jiangsu

The Shangxian Lake Low-Carbon Digital Industrial Park Phase II in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is a compelling demonstration of zero emissions building design. As part of the Sino-Swiss ZEB Project, the Conference Building (Building 1#) showcases how integrated planning and advanced technologies can achieve carbon neutrality in large-scale mixed-use developments.

It uses a ground-source heat pump for heating, cooling, and hot water, reducing energy demand, while a rooftop photovoltaic system generates 26.52 kWh/m² annually, surpassing the 21.58 kWh/m²/year demand, meeting ZEB standards.

Sustainability is embedded throughout the design, including low-carbon materials, green roofs, rainwater reuse via sponge city landscaping, and digital energy management for real-time optimization. Intelligent transport planning, pedestrian-friendly zones, and biodiversity-enhancing green spaces support mobility and lifestyle. The adaptable, replicable design serves as a model for future low-carbon commercial and industrial precincts.
